How to Save Money on Fuel with Tesco and Esso Loyalty Schem

With petrol prices still a concern for many drivers, finding ways to save money on fuel has become a top priority. Fortunately, Tesco and Esso offer a valuable opportunity to earn and redeem loyalty points on fuel purchases. In this blog post, we will explore how you can take advantage of the Tesco Clubcard scheme to save money on fuel and discover other useful tips to reduce your fuel bills.

Save Money on Fuel with Tesco and Esso Loyalty Schem

Earning and Redeeming Tesco Clubcard Points at Fuel Stations:
Tesco Clubcard members can earn and spend points at Tesco forecourts and over 200 Esso filling stations with a Tesco Express on-site. For every £2 spent on fuel at these locations, you earn one Clubcard point. Once you accumulate 150 points, you receive a £1.50 voucher that can be used towards groceries, days out, or even more fuel. Both paper and digital vouchers are accepted, making it convenient to save on your fuel expenses.

Changes to the Points System and Reward Partners:
Effective from June 14, the way you earn Clubcard points when purchasing fuel at Tesco garages will change. Instead of earning points based on the amount spent, you will now earn one point for every two liters of fuel. However, this change does not apply to Esso filling stations with a Tesco Express store. Additionally, the value of points spent with Tesco's reward partners will be reduced. Vouchers will only be worth double their value, rather than triple, when spent with partners. Despite these changes, you can still enjoy significant savings on dining out, entertainment, or shopping with your Clubcard vouchers.

Signing Up for a Tesco Clubcard and Finding Participating Stations:
To take advantage of the Tesco Clubcard scheme, you can sign up for a Clubcard on the Tesco website. The website also provides a convenient tool to find your nearest petrol station. If you prefer Esso stations, you can use the petrol station locator on the Esso website to locate your nearest Esso garage.

Other Loyalty Schemes to Save on Fuel:
In addition to the Tesco and Esso partnership, there are other loyalty schemes available to help reduce your petrol costs. Esso has joined forces with the Nectar loyalty program. You can exchange 300 Nectar points earned from shopping at Sainsbury's and save 5p per liter on fuel. BP offers the BPme rewards card, allowing you to earn points on in-store purchases and regular fuel. Texaco's Star Rewards scheme lets you save 1p per liter of fuel, and Shell Go offers money off at their forecourts with every 10th visit.

Additional Tips to Cut Fuel Costs:
Aside from loyalty schemes, there are other strategies to reduce your fuel bills. Maintaining proper tire pressure can improve fuel efficiency, so regularly check and top up your tires. Decluttering your vehicle and removing unnecessary weight can also help save fuel. Planning your journeys in advance to avoid unnecessary detours can maximize efficiency and minimize fuel consumption.

Conclusion:
With the Tesco and Esso loyalty scheme, drivers have a fantastic opportunity to save money on fuel purchases. By earning and redeeming Tesco Clubcard points, you can enjoy discounts on groceries, days out, and more. Additionally, other loyalty schemes and simple practices like maintaining tire pressure and planning efficient routes contribute to reducing fuel costs. Implement these strategies and start saving on your fuel expenses today.
